Happy Parents Weekend!
This week we enjoyed our last days with our first three weekers and eagerly anticipated seeing our parents and families for the weekend.
Thursday, we had our last full day of activities and the Buffs and Greens senior soccer competition. The Buffs won, and everyone had a blast cheering on their teammates and playing around as the sun set over the LHS field.
On Friday, we had a half day of normal activities and the first three weekers started packing at the end of the day. At night, we enjoyed watching the Jr play, Madagascar. Carrington W. and Ava Grace K. did a fabulous job directing it, and everyone who participated performed amazingly on stage! We went straight over to Vesper Hill for the second Honor Meet when the curtain closed. The Greens won, and several new honor campers were named. Around the fire, counselors recognized outstanding campers in their activities, and we commended the first three weekers on their many achievements.
Parents rolled in on Saturday morning to hang out on the Green and spend time with their campers and friends. Our riders were able to show everything that they learned during a special showcase performance up at the barn. I am so proud of the progress that they all made in so little time! After the talent show winners performed and many introductions were made in West Lodge, everyone enjoyed a classic fried chicken lunch.
After the parents and first three weekers left camp, their absence was felt by all. The smaller group of six weekers celebrated Changeover Night in dresses on Carrington Deck. We were so sad to see our First Three Weekers go, and we cannot wait to see what the next three weeks will bring!
Until next week,
Sophie Thomas
