Roots & Shoots 1

Hello, everyone! And welcome to the Roots and Shoots Blog!

On Sunday morning, after a quick turnaround from Six Week camp, we welcomed all our Roots and Shooters! It was so fun seeing fresh faces around camp, and we played lots of icebreaker games, made our schedules, and ate dinner outside with our cabin groups. At night, we opened the Roots and Shoots week with a campfire to introduce each activity offered.

We woke up ready and excited for our first day of classes on Monday. Everyone had a full schedule and got to try all their choice of activities. On Monday night, each cabin performed a skit. The only rules were that it had to contain the cabin name and the name of each girl within the cabin. It was so fun to see each cabin’s creativity and see each girl’s personality on stage.

Tuesday was our second day of classes, and each girl was able to try even more activities of her own choosing. That night, we hosted an activity called Sign-Ups. Everyone got to sign up for a different spot around camp – games on the athletic field, tennis and basketball on the courts, zumba in West Lodge, games on Carrington Deck, crafts in the Beehive. I hosted athletics, and we played new games like deck tennis and kickball! Everyone had a blast!

It has been a great start to the week here at camp, and we are excited for more days to come!

Sincerely,

Sophie T
