Nina Smith
Camp Physician
Introducing one of our Camp Physicians, Nina Smith! She’s excited to return to Camp Mont Shenandoah as the Camp Physician this summer! Her CMS journey began in 1971 as a counselor and Head of the Waterfront, teaching campers to swim in the Cowpasture River. Although life took her in other directions after that summer, she was thrilled to return in 2017 in a new role—Camp Physician.
She’s a board-certified OBGYN and currently the Medical Director of First Choice Hospice and Wound Care in Harrisonburg, Virginia. At camp, she works closely with our wonderful healthcare team, supporting them remotely and visiting regularly to check in on our campers and staff. You can feel confident that CMS girls are in good hands.
And the photo? That’s from her annual winter ride through the desert—a favorite tradition that keeps her adventurous spirit alive all year long.
