Maintenance Assistant
A valued member of the Camp Mont Shenandoah team, Marvin has spent several years helping enhance the beauty and spirit of camp through his exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to outdoor beautification. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and creative problem-solving, he is a master craftsman whose work can be seen in countless special touches across camp.
Marvin spent most of his adult working life in the sawmill and lumber industry. Upon retirement, he knew that “the retired life” needed to include staying involved and hands-on — that’s when he joined the team at Camp Mont Shenandoah.
He has been married for 46 years to his wife, Cindy. He is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His daughter, Megan, is a PA who you’ll also find working throughout the summer in the Pill Box. Most evenings and weekends are family focused with his grandchildren. Whether he’s cheering from the sidelines at Chase’s football, baseball, or basketball games, watching Carley lead her cheer squad or compete in volleyball or softball tournaments, playing tic-tac-toe with Caleb, or rocking little Cash while they watch their favorite western reruns.
Outside of work, Marvin enjoys gardening, canning, landscaping, fishing, hunting, and tinkering with his latest project. Marvin’s care, creativity, and love for family shine through in all that he does.
