Our first three weeks wrapped up this past Saturday. We enjoyed some Dance Bingo, Auction, and the Practice Dance as some of our surprise evening activities. Tuesday’s evening activity was Jr. Wiffleball, which was hosted in West Lodge because of the rain, where the Greens won! On July 8, we held our first Honor Meet of the summer! The Greens carried the torch, and the Honor Campers were as follows: Virginia Matthews, Bess Kirwan, Poppy Ring, Lourdes Arial, Mamie Boskie-Riva, Lois Hornsby-Greene, and Carson Benaicha. We had a great time acknowledging some outstanding campers with activity awards, and an even better time with s’mores for our inspection winners and honor campers at the end of the night. The Teams sang ¾ of their songfest songs from last year. Buffs sang “Twas in the Moon”, “Feel for You”, and ” Multiplied “, and Greens sang Country Roads and If We Were Vampires. Saturday was another morning filled with Team Spirit: Deck Tennis and Kickball. The Greens won Ups Deck Tennis, the Buffs won Outs Deck Tennis, and Kickball was a tie. On July 12, each cabin performed their lip syncs, which are choreographed dances they each create and rehearse for a few days before competing. Our overall winner, Summerset, will perform on Parents’ Day!
Our second week went by faster than ever, and we can’t believe we are already ⅓ of the way through the summer!
